Running club (A/S)
I feel a little guilty putting it down 'running club' as a weekly activity as I don't manage to go every week for various reasons including illness, weather, appointments etc. But...while I don't go running as part of the club regularly, I do run every weekend at least once or twice. Now that the weather is nice, I can't resist putting my headphones in, turning on my favourite playlist and going out for a run by the river. Together with Doreen and Cailin, who go to running club with me, we decided to go running not only every Monday, but also every Thursday to improve our stamina and general fitness level. We haven't managed to do this yet, but we will definitely start soon (we only started this two weeks ago). I've seen huge progress already and although it isn't as quick as I'd hoped, my 5K time is slowly getting shorter and shorter.
I'm also putting this down for service as I've started helping out in running club by staying behind with the younger children who were not as fast. This way Ms. Riley does not have to worry about those who are last and can easily stay ahead and plan out the route faster.
GOAL: Run 5km in around 20 minutes
Helping in homework club (S)
I've been very consistent with this one and not much has changed since my last post. The only difference is that the children seem even more comfortable with me being there.
GOAL: to continue going weekly and organise a project/event for the younger children
Yoga practices (A)
Yoga has been my most consistent activity throughout the whole year. I've been doing practices every weekend and although they don't challenge me much, I love it a lot. I can't say that I'm getting much closer to the goals I set myself at the start of the year, but I'm definitely maintaining my current level of flexibility and strength.
GOAL: Achieve all three splits (again)
Piano lessons and practice (C)
I actually decided to take a break from piano for a short time while I had internal mock exams at school, just for a few weeks, but now I'm back at it. The reason for my break was mainly because I had no time to practice at school during the week and as my lessons were on the weekend, I couldn't take up any extra time that all added up away from studying, especially that I had to return to school on Sunday evenings. Nevertheless, I'm puting this down as a weekly activities because I continued to practice regularly whenever I got the chance. I can't wait to have more free time and improve even more over summer
GOAL:
Photography (C/S)
Photography obviously involves a lot of creativity and what I enjoy most about doing running a photography blog with Cailin, is that we both have our own distinct styles that are clearly visible with each post. Recently, we both got involved in the school photography competition, which I did a seperate post on here. This allowed us to spread our passion of taking picture and mentor other students with developing their own interest.
GOAL: To take pictures for the blog more regularly and to diversify our content (stray away from flowers, no matter how beautiful they may be)
